About The Branson School

Branson's beautiful 17-acre campus is located in the residential community of Ross, Calif., about 11 miles north of San Francisco in Marin County. Turn in through the main gate and you find yourself in a place that combines a sense of openness and quiet with the energy provided by students, faculty and staff as they crisscross campus throughout the day.

The upper campus includes œThe Res, a former dormitory that now houses the Admission Office, Brenda Brown Library, Jewett Family Theater, Little Theater, and Dance Studio. The upper campus is also home to Crossways (Business and Development offices), Tennis Courts, and the Fine Arts complex (New House and the Music and Visual Arts studios).

The two areas of campus are joined for pedestrians by a red brick stairway, renovated in 2000 to create the Alumni Century Steps, which contain bricks etched with the names of alumni who donated, or whose family donated, to the school's endowment.

Take the Alumni Century Steps to the lower part of campus and you will first see the Student Commons, our Platinum LEED-certified home to our cafeteria and college counseling. Across the rain garden from the Commons is the Athletic Center, which includes a fitness room and two gymnasiums. Cross a small bridge over San Anselmo Creek, and you come to the academic quadrangle. There you will find Richardson Hall (containing Administration, Counseling/Student Affairs, Dean and Department offices); the Tallant Science Center, New Oaks classrooms; and Study Hall, which contains classrooms, the digital language lab, and the Writing Center.

Branson has a campus-wide, fully integrated, fiber optic and wireless network linking all academic classrooms, administrative, arts, and athletic buildings to one another and to the Internet. Every classroom is equipped with interactive media equipment, consisting of ceiling-mounted projectors, DVD/VCR players, and interactive white boards.

The campus grounds and buildings are maintained by the Plant and Facilities Department.
