About De Paul School For Hearing And Speech

DePaul School for Hearing and Speech is dedicated to developing listening and oral language skills in children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Auditory-oral communication methods are used consistently throughout the school. Preschool children are immersed in a learning environment that promotes the natural development of oral language.

A complete academic program is provided for all students in levels Kindergarten to 8th grade. All subject areas are taught with an emphasis on the continued development of language and literacy skills indentified in the individual education program of each student. Children, whose families are committed to supporting the auditory-oral communication mode, are successful in becoming an active participant in the hearing world that surrounds them.

Criteria
To determine if a child is appropriate for the DePaul School Program we look at five criteria:
- The child\'s hearing loss and language delays are significant enough to warrant a specialized program for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- With the appropriate amplification, the child has access to the majority of the speech spectrum.
- The parents are committed to an auditory-oral education and willing to support their child outside of the school environment.
- The academic program is appropriate for the child\'s learning needs and abilities.
- The child\'s communication skills, linguistic abilities, and academic skills fall within the range of currently enrolled peers.

It is the policy of DePaul School to provide equal educational opportunities to all students who qualify for admission to the programs without regard to race, color, religion, sex, ancestry or national origin.

Please contact them directly for tuition rates once you meet the criteria!
