***Grade-level fees vary slightly by grade level due to specific activities.

Tuition Payment Options:
Option #1: You can pay in full by June 10, 2012 by mailing the payment to the lockbox or placing the amount in the collection basket at church in a school tuition envelope. Families who take advantage of this option will receive a 2% discount off their tuition. If this is not an option for you, please consider the following option.

Option #2: Monthly payments may be mailed to the lockbox or placed in the collection basket at church. You may also have your tuition directly debited from your account with any bank. It is a free service that provides a hassle-free, on-time payment of tuition. An ACH form is included in this mailing for your convenience; even if you have used our ACH service in the past, we ask that you complete the revised form for the 2012-13 year, noting that this service will be used for all payments due, not just tuition.

Financial Aid: (Stewardship Families with children in grades K-8 only) Unless you clearly feel that you would not be eligible, you may apply for financial assistance. To receive any financial assistance, however, you need to act now. There is a $27.00 fee to apply. Applications went home to all families in the clear envelope and are also available in the school office. All information is kept strictly confidential. Please mail completed forms with all documents requested to FAIR; FAIR the sends a report to Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish. Incomplete forms/documentation cannot be considered. Families will be notified of the level of tuition assistance before the end of the school year. Any family accepting financial assistance must also complete a National School Lunch Form, available in August. Again, financial assistance is only available to Stewardship Families who complete the required documentation.
Late Fee: There is a $20.00 late fee assessed if tuition is received after the 10th of the month.

Here are answers to Frequently Asked Questions.
Why is there a registration fee?
There is a $200.00 registration fee per family each school year. The registration fee registers and reserves a seat for your child for the new school year. It allows MQHR to determine the number of teacher contracts to issue and to make other financial commitments for the new school year. This fee is non-refundable.

Why did tuition go up this year?
Tuition went up to increase teacher salaries to 90% of Fayette County's 2011-12 teacher salary scale and to pay other school expenses. Since teacher's salaries were reduced last year to 85% of Fayette County's pay scale, the finance council felt it was important to return teacher salaries to amounts close as possible to their previous 91% of Fayette County.

What is a Stewardship Family?
A Stewardship Family is a registered, active member of Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary parish. One way this is determined is by the completion of the annual stewardship of Time, Talent and Treasure form.

Who qualifies for financial assistance and how much assistance can I expect?
Any registered Mary Queen parishioner or Stewardship Family (K-8) can apply. Financial assistance is based upon your family's income, number of dependents and other extenuating circumstances; therefore, no specific dollar amount automatically qualifies your family. Financial assistance awards vary depending on your family's financial situation. Tuition assistance applications are now available online at http://www.fairtuition.com/.

When will I be notified of how much assistance I have been granted?
Financial assistance award letters will be mailed by May 30th. Signing and returning the acceptance letter within seven days indicates acceptance of the award and the intent to apply for the National Free Lunch Program.

Will I still receive the tuition assistance award if I do not fill out the National School Lunch Program form?
No. The National School Lunch Program form must be completed in full and returned by the August deadline to receive the tuition assistance award.

What if I decide not to accept the financial assistance award - do I receive the school registration fee back?
No, if you decide not to accept the financial assistance award, the $200.00 school registration fee is not refundable.

What are Activity Fees?
Activity Fees are those small amounts of monies that are collected throughout the year from families for different school activities, such as field trips, holiday crafts, art fees, agendas, and other curricular items specific to all students in a grade level. An accounting of activity fees is enclosed at the end of this letter.

Doesn't the WinWinWin! Program cover the cost of field trips?
WinWinWin! monies designated for the field trip category will be subtracted evenly across the top of all activity fees. For example, if we have raised $4,500.00 by July 1, 2012, then $10.00 will be applied to every students' activity fee (based on an enrollment of 450 students); therefore, if you have a child in the fourth grade, only $65.00 would be due on July 15, 2012. We will notify you of any reduction or credit for these fees.

Why is the Pre-K and K snack fee included in the Activity Fee?
We require the snack to be provided by our cafeteria for all children to keep our school in compliance with state nutrition guidelines, and to make sure that all foods served to the children are free of any ingredients that may cause problems for our students with identified allergies.

Does the multiple-child discount apply for Preschool?
No, the multiple-child discount applies only for Stewardship Families with children enrolled in Kindergarten through grade 8.

Is there a finder fee for helping to recruit students?
Yes! Any person who refers a family who registers and attends, the referring party will receive a $100.00 reduction from their tuition.

What if my financial situation changes during the school year?
In some cases, a family's financial situation may change during the school year due to serious illness, loss of job, etc. If this happens to you, please make an appointment immediately with the Principal to discuss special financial arrangements and to avoid late fees.

Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact any member of the Finance Council.
