About La Jolla Country Day School

TUITION AND FEES 2012-2013
Tuition costs include a $2,000 non-refundable enrollment deposit. Tuition includes outdoor education fees, graduation fees, and yearbook fees.

Tuition will be billed in early June 2012, for the 2012-2013 school year. For those choosing the œPlan 1  option, tuition will be due in full by June 29, 2012. Those choosing the œPlan 2  option, will be contacted by the Business Office regarding their enrollment in the FACTS program. See accompanying materials for further information regarding the œPlan 2  option.

OTHER FEES & EXPENSES
Additional fees and expenses may be incurred during the 2012-2013 school year. The following is an estimate of additional costs that
parents should budget for their child.

Grade 5 to Grade 8 (Middle School)
Books*: $400 - $600
Physical Education Uniform (Available through the Torrey Store): $40
Grade 9 to Grade 12 (Upper School)
Books*: $600 - $900
Physical Education Uniform (Available through the Torrey Store): $40
College Tour: $1,000 - $2,000
Advanced Placement Testing Fee (per exam): $90
Senior activity fee (12th graders only): $400
*La Jolla Country Day School has outsourced its textbook process to MBS Direct, which provides new and used textbooks, as well as electronic books (when available), for La Jolla Country Day School students in Grades 5 - 12. Textbooks can be purchased online starting July 1, 2012. Visit www.ljcds.org/bookstore.htm for more information.

Parents are not, however, obligated to purchase textbooks through MBS Direct and may obtain required books from whatever source they wish. Please contact the school's bookstore coordinator, John Lofton, at 858-453-3440 x160 or jlofton@ljcds.org if you have any questions about this process.

Miscellaneous Fees
Optional Before and After School Supervision (Tiny Torreys to Grade 4): $2,370
La Jolla Country Day School provides optional school supervision of students from Tiny Torreys (Age 3) to Grade 4 from 7:00a.m. to 8:00a.m. and in the afternoon from dismissal time to 6:00p.m. Please contact Maria Curtis, Lower School Assistant Director at 858-453-3440 x191 or mcurtis@ljcds.org for further information.

STUDENT INSURANCE
Student Accident Insurance for all school-sponsored activities is provided for all students at no additional cost. There is a $100 deductible on this secondary insurance plan. Separately, the school offers a Student Tuition Refund Plan through A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. This plan helps to protect your educational investment if a student is unable to complete the school year for various reasons.
