About University Heights Academy

APPLICATION AND TESTING FEE
A $50 application and testing fee must be submitted with each new student application.

ENROLLMENT FEE
First Time Enrollees - $200

ENROLLMENT AGREEMENT
To guarantee a place in the class, each family must sign an enrollment contract and forward it to the office with the non-refundable enrollment fee. Students are enrolled for the full academic year and no refund or changes in the contract will be made by the school for absences, withdrawal, disciplinary action, or dismissal. This contract is necessary because UHA has continuing expenses such as faculty salaries and maintenance. The annual income must be stable and known to plan and maintain services throughout the year.

SCHOOL FEE
This fee includes activity and athletic fees, school newspaper and newsletters, cost of computer supplies, maintenance, and software. It does not include insurance or optional school pictures. It also covers the use of all audio-visuals and duplicated materials, library and music supplies, assemblies, etc.

TRIP FEE
Each year the Middle School takes a spring trip to one of three major U.S. Cities; Atlanta, Chicago, or St. Louis. The Upper School takes an annual Outdoor School Trip. Other educational trips that relate to the curriculum may be required and costs will be minimal. As these experiences are an important part of the curriculum, they are required, and costs will be added to your account balance.

TUITION REFUND PLANS
Dewar's Tuition Refund Insurance protects the parent or guardian against loss of unearned tuition in case the student is unable to, or does not, complete the school year. This coverage is available to all parents or guardians of UHA students, but is only required of those paying their tuition on a monthly basis. The premium for this coverage is 3.5% (tuition x .035) of the total amount due. Insurance applies to tuition only. Other fees are non-refundable.

FEES ASSESSED
There will be a $25 fee assessed for each check or bank draft returned for insufficient funds. A 12% interest charge will be added to any balance 30 days old. If an account is 30 or more days old, the Business Manager will call and students may be suspended and/ or grade reports held until bills are paid. The family will be responsible for unpaid balances as per the contract. The Business Manager must be notified of extenuating circumstances prior to the billing date.

MONTHLY PAYMENT PLAN
Those electing the monthly payment plan (12 payments, June 2008 through May 2009) may do so by automatic funds transfer only. If you choose this payment plan, please complete the Bank Draft Authorization Agreement, and return it with a voided check and/or deposit slip and your enrollment agreement to UHA. The first bank draft payment to UHA will be initiated in June 2008. A 12% annual interest is charged on any outstanding balance.

* Limited tuition assistance is available for qualifying families
