About Kennedy Day School

Kennedy Day School offers a unique combination of integrated special education, therapeutic and health services to students, ages 3 to 22, with multiple, intensive special needs and challenges. Individual student needs in areas such as communication, mobility, motor control, vision, hearing, cognition and/or fragile health are addressed by each student's interdisciplinary team.

From preschool to high school, small and supportive class groupings offer remedial and compensatory instructional strategies and integrate a full array of specialized services.

Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for each student are developed through cooperative planning with the student's family and sending school district to address the unique needs of the learner.
Programs

Educational plans outline coordinated service components that may include: Academics, Occupational Therapy, Adapted Physical Education, Physical Therapy, Assistive Technology, Psychology, Audiology, Reading Services, Family Resource Services, Recreation, Library, Speech and Language, Music Therapy, Vision Services, Nursing/Health Services, and Vocational Education.

The Facility
The Kennedy Day School is located on the campus of Franciscan Hospital for Children. A brand new building was completed in 2012 and is home to bright, spacious classrooms, therapy rooms and spaces for learning. Construction continues on the New Balance Foundation wing which is currently being renovated. This section of the school is scheduled to be complete in time for Fall 2012.

With more than 40 years of experience and a reputation for excellence and innovation, Kennedy Day School fosters the development of meaningful skills and positive self-concept in a caring and supportive learning environment.
