The School maintains a student-faculty ratio of 7-1 and an average class size of 14. Tuition at all levels includes the cost of books.

Tuition Schedule for the Academic Year 2012-13

Grades 6 thru 8: $22,950
Grades 9 thru 12: $23,600

Financial Aid
Boys' Latin is committed to being a diverse and inclusive community reflecting a broad economic mix. In 2012-13, the School awarded just under $2.5 million in financial aid to over 220 deserving students. Were it not for the generous support of our donors, these talented students would not have access to a Boys' Latin education. Moreover, our community would not be enriched by their presence.

Boys' Latin's Financial Aid Policy is administered by the Financial Aid Committee and is consistent with the guidelines established by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS). The basic premise of these guidelines is that parents have an obligation to finance their son's education to the extent that they are able. Financial aid awards are based on each family's demonstrated financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Committee.

How to Apply
Families begin the financial aid process by notifying the Admissions Office that they are interested in applying for financial aid. New families do this by simply checking the box on the admissions application indicating that they are interested in receiving information about financial aid. Current Boys' Latin families already receiving financial aid will automatically receive a financial aid packet and do not need to contact the Admissions Office. Current families not receiving financial aid should contact the Admissions Office directly to request a financial aid packet.

The financial aid packet provides detailed instructions regarding the financial aid process at Boys' Latin. Note that the financial information requested and the due dates differ slightly for new and current students.

Applying for financial aid will not affect an applicant\'s chances for admission. Admissions decisions and financial aid decisions are rendered by separate committees of the school. All materials submitted for financial aid are kept strictly confidential.

Named Scholarship Program
Each year a number of Upper School students have the honor of being selected to be Named Scholars. Named Scholars receive financial support from funds established by or in the name of long-time supporters and friends of Boys' Latin. Most of the 55 Named Scholars are recipients of need-based financial aid. Some receive merit awards. All Named Scholars must apply for financial aid through the normal process.
