About Hope Academy Presbyterian Home

SACS Accreditation
Hope Academy received accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in December 2005 and was renewed in 2010. Hope Academy employs highly qualified teachers, aligning the curriculum with the Alabama Courses of Study requirements, and addressing all federal and state requirements for students meeting the criteria for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
Major Advantages

Students attending Hope Academy are assured the educational advantages of:
A SACS-accredited program ensures quality
Confidence that grades will transfer and be accepted at all colleges and universities
Small class size (6-12 students per teacher)
An atmosphere filled with high expectations for academic achievement
Personalized attention allowed by small classes
Open communication line between parent, student and educators
Special emphasis on customized curriculum needs
Above average pass rate on the Alabama High School Graduation Exam

Residential Education Program
To enhance our strong tradition of directing young people toward realizing their full potential, Hope Academy accepts private residential students into our educational program. Our residential students are able to take advantage of the structured environment, close supervision, and developmental activities the Home offers outside of the Hope Academy school hours. Residential school can be an excellent option for students desiring to transition smoothly into life on a college campus or whose academic performance and behavior suggests the need for a change of environment.

Pre-Admission Requirements
Before being admitted to Hope Academy, prospective students are assessed, at a minimum, in the areas of reading and mathematics achievement. Before being admitted into the residential program, students may be required to complete a battery of psychological assessments. These assessments are designed to let teachers and program administrators know exactly where the student ranks in many different areas of learning, as well as, provide the information necessary for a customized instructional approach.

$3850 for the 2010-2011 academic year. This is payable in ten monthly installments of $385 each. Not included in that is a one-time application fee of $50 and an additional fee of $175 for the pre-admission testing. Discounts are available for multiple children from the same family.
