About St. Ignatius School

Our Process
Follow these steps to enroll at St. Ignatius School:

Tour the school and visit with our principal, John Matcovich. Give him a call at 503-774-5533 or email him at jmatcovich@stignatiusschool.org.

Complete the application packet in full. There is no application fee: simple and easy, it's free to apply to St. Ignatius School.

Participate in a two-day school visit where your child gets to know our school and meet their potential new teacher and classmates. During the visit your child will take an assessment test so we can determine their needs.
Please note: During the summer months, because school is not in session, prospective students will meet with their prospective teacher and complete a short skills assessment (approx. 45 min.).

At this point, if it looks like a match for the child, parents, and school, you will complete a registration packet to enroll your child at St. Ignatius School. Your child will be able to begin classes right away. .

If you are thinking we are out of reach, we encourage you to have a conversation with us about what's possible before you make a decision. St. Ignatius School is steadfast in remaining accessible to families of all income levels. Not only is this fair and just, it promotes the richness and diversity we value so highly in our school. Each year we distribute over $100,000 in tuition assistance to our families.

Our Policy
Here is our official admittance policy: œSt. Ignatius School admits students of any race, sex, color, national and ethnic origin, to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to all schools. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin, in administration of its educational policies, athletic, and other school administered programs. In other words, we genuinely and truly welcome everyone, in everything we do.
